Simhachalam Temple is one of the 18 important shrines dedicated to Lord Narasimha and dates back to the 11th century. Perched atop Simhachalam Hill, the temple showcases magnificent Kalinga architecture with intricate stone carvings. The unique feature is that the main deity is covered with sandalwood paste throughout the year, except during the Chandanotsavam festival in May when the original form is revealed.
